This college, run by the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, Satara was established in 1954 by Padmabhushan Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil on the confluence of Krishna and Koyna rivers. It has been imparting higher education to the masses, especially needy, deprived, rural and disadvantaged student communities.

Welcome To College
The college has been started way back in June, 1954 with only 54 students in a single Arts Faculty. It has been flourished over the years to become a multi-faculty institution with 30 departments, a large number of support services and interdisciplinary activities at present.
The campus is spread over about 6.8 hectors. The total student strength of Senior and Junior College is more than 12,500. The number of teaching and non-teaching staff is above 400. Now the college is one of the biggest and well known educational institutions in the region.
